Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the SpendLah app. By using it, you agree to them. SpendLah is made by Winston Lau, Singapore (“we”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
What SpendLah is
SpendLah helps you keep a record of your spending on your iPhone. It doesn’t connect to your bank, hold your money, or make payments. It is not a bank, a payment service or a financial adviser.
Not financial advice
Totals, comparisons, charts and AI answers describe your own records. They are general information only. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and they are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Talk to a qualified adviser before making a financial decision.
AI features
- AI is optional. You are interacting with AI, not a person.
- AI can be wrong. It can misread a note, receipt or notification, or give an incorrect answer. Check what it shows you before you save it or rely on it.
- AI runs on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence, and for long receipts on Apple’s Private Cloud Compute. It needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, and it may sometimes be unavailable.
Automatic logging and exchange rates
Automatic logging depends on iOS, on notifications and on how you set it up. It can miss a payment, or read one wrongly. Check your records against your statements for anything that matters.
Exchange rates in SpendLah are daily estimates. What your bank or card charges will differ.
Your records
Your records stay on your iPhone, and we don’t hold a copy. If you lose your iPhone or delete the app, your records are gone unless you have exported a backup. You are responsible for your own backups. You are also responsible for what you enter.
Using SpendLah fairly
Don’t use SpendLah to break the law. Don’t try to get around its limits, interfere with its server, or copy or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows you to.
Price
SpendLah is free at launch. We may add paid features later. If we do, we will tell you what they cost before you are charged, and Apple will handle payment.
Changes
We can change or stop SpendLah or any of its features, including AI. We can also change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or on this page, and update the effective date. If you keep using SpendLah after that, the new terms apply.
No guarantees, and limits on liability
SpendLah is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will be error-free, always available, or suited to any particular purpose.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on a figure, an AI result or an exchange rate in the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of S$50 and what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under Singapore law that can’t be excluded, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apple
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for SpendLah and its content.
- You may use SpendLah on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
- Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for SpendLah. Contact us instead.
- If SpendLah fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund what you paid for it. Apple gives no other warranty for SpendLah. Any other claim or loss from a failure is our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claim about SpendLah, including product liability claims, claims that it breaks a law, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If someone claims that SpendLah infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with it.
- You confirm that you aren’t in a country under a U.S. government embargo or named as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you aren’t on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use SpendLah.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. No one else other than you and us can enforce them.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and Singapore courts have jurisdiction.
